I was a teacher at Ardrossan Academy from 1972 until 2005, principal teacher of Chemistry from 1985 until 2005.
Now that I'm free, I have time to do all the things I enjoy:

Bird Watching

I've seen a large number of different birds, from the common Chaffinch to the more exotic Peregrine Falcon. I always get a thrill every time I see, and perhaps even photograph, a bird I've never seen before.

Computing

I have always used Macs because of their reliability and ease of use. My current machine is the 24" iMac 3.06 GHz. I also have a 30 GB iPod Touch. I mainly use my Mac for processing photographs and videos, maintaining my websites, shopping, banking, emailing and just about everything else I do !

Cycling

I have a Raleigh Pioneer Metro GLX. The furthest I've cycled so far is from Largs to Stevenston and back.

Photography

I've owned a camera most of my life, currently a Canon PowerShot SX1 IS. I take my camera with me wherever I go and I'll try to photograph almost anything.
See my YouTube movies here.

Walking

I walk miles every day, usually with the camera and binoculars. I do most of my thinking while walking.
